Financial Planning — Roadmap to a Secure Future

The financial planning process includes identifying your goals and developing plans to meet them. Financial plans may include the following areas: Retirement Planning, Estate Planning, Investment Advising, Risk Management, Income Tax Planning, Budgeting, and Education Planning. It takes a professional with a broad range of knowledge and experience to provide these services.

Financial planning applies to all stages of life. It represents an ongoing process to maximize your wealth, independence, and security.

The services provided by Certified Financial Planners differ. The vast majority of financial planners sell financial products and derive their compensation through commissions earned by selling these products to clients.

A financial planner who has a financial stake in the implementation of his/her recommendations faces an inherent conflict of interest and cannot be considered objective or unbiased. In addition, planners who receive the majority of their compensation through commissions have little incentive to provide financial advice because they may not make as much money providing advice as they do selling products.

Many clients become frustrated when it seems that their financial planner seems more interested in selling products than in providing advice.

Preparing a Financial Plan Can Improve Your Marriage

"Create a budget for both the short and long term as you build your goals and your dreams together. Budgeting together will create communication in your marriage." Dave Ramsey, author of the book Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness.
